It was never said to be the strongest in the universe, it is only extremely powerful among the rest of the weapons that they hold, not gigantic turrets.
Ratchet even says that he'd need more than a RYNO to take out something and it's suggested they get something BIGGER to deal with said threat. And they do just that.
The Zoni helped Ratchet and Qwark survive the asteroid impact, that is made clear.
That is no "large mountain" that is a clearly a hill, and Ratchet doesn't survive it, he doesn't get hit by it, you literally can't get it by it because Drek only uses it when his health reaches a certain point and he's just trying to destroy your footing. Not to mention that all it actually splits it and disperses it into 4 pieces, you can only just try and scale off of Dreks other weaponry with that and they're all clearly weaker.
The Hypernova Defense Laser is not literal, it was made to destroy ASTEROIDS.
And the explosions that go to other dimensions? That's extremely irrelevant, it never says it destroys them.
The Landstalkers description from one of the commentators in Deadlocked goes like this, exactly word for word.
"This all terrain mech of destruction comes fully loaded, with power steering, AC, jumbo sized drink holders and enough plasma mortars to take out a small star system!"
It clearly is referring to ammo count. Not firepower.
The Supernova is clearly not literal in name either because it uses a barrage of air striking lasers, not exploding stars.
