I think X Drake knows Apoo's gimmick so he can block his ears long enough to get close and clash with him so Apoo can't use his powers, as Apoo has never been shown to use his powers while also fighting cqc

If he blocks his ears while approaching, he's left vulnerable, and Apoo could use his long-ass arms to deck him or throw stuff at him.

Apoo has no range outside of his devil fruit, and X Drake outstation him by a bit and probably has slightly better haki. All of Apoo's music attacks are telegraphed, especially since X Drake knows his gimmick and know what to dodge and when to cover his ears.
Covering your ears mid battle is not that hard, especially since Apoo has to drop everything and abandon CQC in order to use it, as he has in literally all of his fights. It's more likely X Drake cmgets in close/forces Apoo to engage and he beats him up

Apoo isn't stupid. Well, he is, but not THAT stupid. At that point, he would simply keep moving back and then wait.
Plus, covering your ears in combat is hard when you have a sword as your main fighting style or you are a dinosaur with dinosaur hands. Running up to Apoo with his ears covered is guaranteeing a long-arm combo.

Drake outclasses Apoo in base already, he doesn't need to go dino
He's fought Apoo in base before
Apoo can't take advantage of Drake covering his ears because the instant he tries, Drake blocks it, and now Drake's close enough where Apoo can't actually use his devil fruit anymore unless he continues running away
Drake covers his ears -> Drake goes in close -> Apoo tries to hit him with Tonfas -> Drake uncovers his ears and blocks -> Drake is now in close range -> Drake beats up Apoo

True, but it's not as easy as one might think.
Approaching, Drake needs to reach down, grab his sword, draw his sword, pull up, and swing or block, essentially giving Apoo a free hit, even if he's physically inferior.

plus Drake can just punch him lmao, armament is still a thing
Not to mention Apoo actually did use his Devil Fruit powers against Drake in Episode 1056, and Drake dodged it without even covering his ears cuz again, he knows Apoo's gimmick, and that's just in his Base form. IF Drake goes Hybrid there's really nothing Apoo can do

Thinking Drake wins, he’s portrayed as being a way bigger threat to Zoro than Apoo who got one-tapped by Zoro, Drake fought Apoo and tanked his sound attacks too. The moment he busts out his Hybrid Form, Apoo is cooked. Drake should also logically have better haki than Apoo (being a front line fighter and a new world swordsman).

I'm voting Drake for the reasons above, far more of a physical threat and his ancient zoan helps him endure and recover from Apoo's attacks, superior haki and portrayal too
