Going purely off the DBS profile, Goku doesn't resist a majority of Slappy's powers. Goku will obviously ******* obliterate Slappy, but Slappy is just one of those characters that are better off alive then dead, since once killed, you will have to deal with his ghost form, which is abstract. Goku afaik doesn't have any means of dealing with conceptual stuff, so he is just screwed at that point.

I will also like to note that Slappy's soul isn't really something you can restrict. Its a fundamental aspect of his being and you just can't simply have doll Slappy without ghost Slappy, since the ghost is basically piloting the doll.
