Also, just how strong are the humans there, that those creatures are considered to be "not especially dangerous" (even if they only tend to eat smaller animals), isn't the fact that they can just squish you easily dangerous enough?

Almost anything in the verse can kill humans, so maybe they're just ignoring how dangerous these creatures are. :V
