The Boys discussion thread

May I ask why Homelander has Space Survival mode when it's only described as viewing New York from space? Because as far as I know, achieving Space Survival mode requires a very long time.

No, it really doesn't. A normal human would lose consciousness after about 10-15 seconds in space, and it'll only take 1-2 minutes for someone to surely die.

As far as I know, characters who can breathe in space for short periods only achieve self-sustaining type 1. Like Saitama.

What do you mean "short periods"? Self-Sustenance by its definition is the ability to survive indefinitely. As for why Saitama doesn't have Space Survival, it's simply redundant. He already has every ability he would need to survive in space.
In fact, he is listed as a user despite not even having the actual ability mentioned on his profile.

I mainly saw on the Space Survival page that it mentioned long-term survival, so I thought it would take a long time to meet the requirement, but it seems that's not the case.

Long term does mean they can survive for a long time, but the requirement is pretty easy to meet because anyone who doesn't have Space Survival would pass out and start dying very quickly. If Homelander can travel to space and take his time to observe New York, odds are he has Space Survival.

Furthermore, it can travel through space for a considerable amount of time and distance in order to escape up the virus.

Homelander's own lasers can do more damage to himself than Ryan
I think this in itself is poor writing and an attempt to seem 'smart' by the writers by making Homelander cut himself since the syringe could not pierce him. Because it would make no sense if Homelander could casually cut that deep into himself yet proceeds to do less damage to Butcher, Queen Maeve and so on?!

Hell that would mean Butcher should have hurt Homelander a lot more since we know that their hv are relative to some degree due to their beam clash in s3. You can tell he writers didn't really put a lot into it.

Yeah, I can agree the portrayal of lasers are inconsistent, though I still don't think it makes any sense for Ryan's to be significantly stronger in season 2 than Homelander is in any season.

I think we can just scale the characters' lasers to SB/Homelander level durability via feats/context and be done with it.

The script says Homelander and Butcher were at the height of their powers. Can we confirm that V1 HL was stronger than before, and V Butcher was also stronger than Temp V Butcher? And since Homelander was outmatched by Ryan and Butcher together, I guess Butcher should scale to HL anyway.
