Thematic matchups that would be/are stomps

What are some matchups that are very good thematically but are very badly stomps?

these can include matchups that haven’t been made or just matchups that have already happened here. You can also say these matchups sound good on paper but bad in practice.

just asking this because you can have a stomp but at the same a time a very thematic choice (the characters may stomp but they don’t stomp regarding theme (share many similar qualities/ideas. It’s not power but personality and other categories/qualities)

I mean basically all of them... since they can become their element and have normal attacks be ineffective on them, so any one with powers similar gets an instant disadvantage most of the time

Sword Saint Isshin vs Malenia Blade of Miquella. The top sword fighters of their respective Fromsoft universes renown for being undefeatable.

Doom Guy vs Master Chief. Armored warriors defending mankind from an otherworldly menace.

Raiden Mei vs Lucia Crimson Weave. Lucia doesn't have a profile here. Both have been called daughters of Vergil so let's let them see who is the favorite child.

Excalibur vs 2B. Not a stomp but the list of similarities between these two characters are so long it's practically a mirror match that begs to be resolved.
 
Ben 10 vs danny phantom, both hiding there identitys both occupying a similar space, and there's alot of crossover in the fandom

However ben stomps hard, he has 90% of dannys powers in a single transformation, and the rest accounted for in different transformations, by far in theory Danny's best quality is his physical strength, sense on a surface level it's much superior to most of ben's transformations,

However thanks to how the vs wiki scales things, that doesn't really batter here, and danny just gets stomped.

Sora Vs Kirin: Both are swordfighters with power nulling cards, you can also technically say both have a dog as a friend

Sora Vs Ichigo: Both are swordfighters that are also hybrids of antagonistic species they often slay born from themselves

Sora Vs Klonoa: Both have surprisingly a lot in common:

  • Both are universe and dream travelers to realms foreign to them
  • Both have entire arcs of exploring the meaning of being a hero
  • Both are heroic characters that have saved the multiverse multiple times
  • Both are rather unaware of what's going on and just skip the details
  • Both wield a weapon exclusively usable by them
  • Both use the power of friendship
  • Both trigger a certain thing exclusively with their weapon to ideally protect a place (Keyholes in Sora's part, the bells in Klonoa's part)
  • Both fight the forces of darkness
  • Both have suffered an external force forcing everyone they knew to forget about them

Gunvolt Vs Pikachu, Cole MacGrath: Electric dudes lol

Gunvolt Vs: Zygarde: Both have a dog, dragon and embrio form.

Gunvolt Vs Miraidon: Electric azure dragons involved on time travel

Mewtwo Vs Iron Valiant: Artificial Pokémon derivated from Psychic-types

Darkness (KH) Vs Black Hat: Eldritch abominations affecting the entire multiverse of a company, Disney and Warner Bros are also rival companies of sorts, so it's also fitting
