So basically, in the verse, Cursed Spirits/Monsters have a thing called a Narrative, or a Story, and one has to follow its narrative to find the weak points.
And Narratives... kinda just force stuff. For example, one monster's Narrative is to catch some people, and as such, it's bound to be stronger than them no matter their strength;
They also have domains with the narrative and its own special rules governing the place
Also, the characters did not get an experiment done on them, but because the Narrative itself said they did, their body was altered as if they were experimented on;
Also, they can do Logic Loops (which I have no fking idea what that means), or do conceptual traps;
And there is a direct statement from the Author which they state that Cursed Spirits could do anything as long as their narrative allows them too, but eh.
TL;DR, these monsters have a Narrative/Story, which alters reality and characters must follow the story. Would that be Reality Warping, Law Manip, Logic Manip (?), or Plot Manip?
"Yes. And it’s not an alien. The Cursed Spirit just makes it seem that way. Its story—the narrative—is that it’s an alien choosing worthy warriors to save before the world ends. But that’s not real."
Well, the world would actually be ending soon, but this thing was just pretending to know about it.
"Narrative?" she repeated, clearly confused.
I checked the time. I’d already spent nearly two minutes explaining. I only had about three left before I had to leave.
"All Cursed Spirits follow a narrative. This one’s story is that it’s testing humans to find worthy warriors to take away before Earth’s destruction.
"It summons people for a death game.
"Those who fail get sent home.
"You can’t kill yourself here either, so if you want to escape, you’ll need someone else to kill you,"

I watched him with interest.
’Who is this guy?’
’He’s got good instincts, can stay calm under pressure, and has some real leadership skills.’
’He is Rank 2 at his age, and he survived two direct hits from a Cursed Spirit whose narrative should be that it’s here to catch us, so it’s bound to be stronger than us no matter our strength.’

They also have domains with the narrative and its own special rules governing the place
In domains like this, two rules kept you alive.First, always use your head, and figure out the domain’s narrative and the rules that govern it.Second, have an open mind, and accept that those rules can break due to an unknown rule you didn’t know about
Also, the characters did not get an experiment done on them, but because the Narrative itself said they did, their body was altered as if they were experimented on;
I spoke slowly. "The smaller the number, the stronger the mutation. You look physically normal, so the experiment must not have affected your body.
"That means your current state—your soul being out here—is probably the result of the experiment done to you."
He went silent. Of course, the experiment wasn’t actually done on us. But the narrative said it was, which led to our bodies being altered.

Were there multiple layers?
It could be a fortress filled with eldritch horrors.
It could be worse.
Some Cursed Spirits created logic loops or conceptual traps.
