So that's the side cross-sectional area, not the cross sectional area. Those are different things.

Calculation is evaluated but fix that, otherwise people who try to use that calc as a basis will get confused

@MVMRainAngel I'm confused why you used the tensile strength of steel to calculate the force of a door being pulled off its hinges. Even if the hinges were made of steel, you'd need to use the bearing strength of the hinges, not the tensile strength of steel. Bearing strength values range anywhere from 86 MPa to 120 MPa during dynamic contact pressure.

I thought bearing strength was related to compressive force, whereas tensile strength is about pulling force. In this case, the character actually pulled it.

Hello
Could you evaluate this?
Thanks
Hello, if you don't mind, could you check this calc when you have time? It was accepted years ago, but I recently updated it to also calculate force from the feat, so that needs a small evaluation. Thanks in advance

Could you please mind checking this CRT?

Hi, can you evaluate this feat? Revamped it a couple of times with some help. Only calculated the compression of the wall but I was also wondering since in the narration, it describes that after the force was applied, the temperature was raised to 1880 degrees, so I was wondering if the thermal energy could be calculated and added to the result too as they don't happen simultaneously?

Any reason what they did should be the same as an actual Sola Flare?

Apparently of late a series of solar flares had been detected leaping out from the sun’s surface; the largest and most powerful flares since records began. There seemed no end to these flares, which were already playing havoc with the world’s weather and communications systems. Toby smiled. If the flares hadn't been screwing up every one’s television reception, such a story would never have made the front page. People only ever really cared about science when it bit them on the arse. ~ Drinking Midnight Wine, Pg. 11
“Gayle is the human form of Gaia. Mother Earth, the planetary consciousness, the living world that supports us all. When she takes on her aspect, she becomes the Earth, womb and parent to all hu- mankind, and unimaginably powerful. Her sister, Luna, my dear mother, is the Moon, of course. Take deep breaths, Toby. These are big concepts, but you can handle them.” “So the Serpent In The Sun,” Toby said slowly, “is. . .” “The Sun. Yes. The Gayle and Luna you've been associating with arent really human, the way you and even I are. They're just masks, roles they play, suits they put on when they feel like going slum- ming. Tiny extensions of themselves they made so that they could walk unnoticed among us. ~ Drinking Midnight Wine, Pg. 262

As seen here, the Sun is merely the avatar of the Serpent. The solar flares that they release can be detected by scientists so I would think it is literal.

That type of information should be in the blog next time. Regardless, why did you choose 0.92 emissivity?

Hello Vietthai mind checking this out? Just need one more votes, thank you.🙏
