Four Shades Boundary/Conceptual Manipulation

Could you reply to where you addressed it?
Nah, it's okay if you disagree. I'm just tired rn.

But the authorities were created by phanes so if anything i could only see phanes having it
Those four shades are literally the projections/avatars of Phanes himself, like they almost not a different person. They only had different authorities to govern.

Are not what?
Are not like you said.

This is sometimes misunderstood, even though Alice never mentions that the Three Moon Goddesses can grant life and death.

Except Dottore uses the Life authority to create many lifeforms right in front of our eyes. He also shows usage of space and time manipulation separately on numerous occasions. Why wouldn’t the Trilune Authority be able to do this?

I really doubt that manipulating "limits" is just Law Manipulation.
Yeah, i think.
That boundary manipulation can ultimately develop into conceptual manipulation, because boundaries themselves depend on definitions that separate one thing from another.

As a simple analogy,
we recognize an apple as an “apple” because there is an essence defined as an apple. This definition creates a boundary that distinguishes the essential nature of an apple from other fruits. Without such boundaries, objects would be difficult to differentiate, as they would lack clear identity.

This concept can be applied to the condition of Teyvat.
Before the arrival of Phanes, there was no clear separation between fundamental aspects such as life, death, space, and time. Everything existed in an undefined state, lacking essential distinctions.

As illustrated in the Nod-Krai trailer, life and death had no boundaries, meaning they flowed as a single unified state. In that era, the will of existence itself was not bound by any structure, allowing it to flow freely.
Because of the absence of boundaries, the old world order cannot be directly compared to the world after Phanes’ intervention. The two are fundamentally different. This aligns with Nicole’s statement that the world has changed at its most fundamental level.

When Phanes defined these boundaries, the structure of reality as it is known today was established. Life, death, space, and time became distinct entities because each was given a defined essence. In other words, modern Teyvat is built upon conceptual differentiation that previously did not exist.

Therefore, I tend to classify this phenomenon as Type 1 conceptual manipulation, because what is being manipulated is not merely the manifestation or effects of concepts, but the essence of the concepts themselves, namely, the definitions that determine their distinctions.

Yeah, that’s all I understand for now. I won’t add anything further. let the staff evaluate this crt

This thread is very specific and long. All the same, the things described do sound like possible Concept Manipulation. I'm interested to see what other people think before casting a vote though.

What are the arguments for and against Concept Manipulation?

Well, the opposition only thinks it's just Law Manipulation and nothing else.

My arguments is basically the OP itself.

The shades are said to embody concepts. Did these concepts exist already or only after?
We're talking about the boundaries of them (Life, Death, Time and Space), which indeed did not exist prior to their rule. And of course, including the concept of fate which is the Constellations/Stella Fortuna.

For example, Life and Death: A “boundary” between Life and Death is not a wall or energy field something like that, it’s a conceptual distinction that determines what counts as "alive" or "dead" in the first place. Because to the Moon Sisters, "Life" and "Death" are not different whatsoever just as Sandrone said before.

That’s a hallmark of conceptual-level manipulation, by affecting reality at the level of its underlying definitions, by defining what is A and what is B and makes the distinction between them.

Furina has given good example regarding it.

The core of my argument is actually in this my point, where initially these concepts were not differentiated because there were no boundaries that separated them, it was the heavenly gods who defined these concepts so that boundaries were created and the current reality is very different from ancient times, the current reality is standing on concepts that have changed because they have been defined or simply the current reality is in a position above the differentiated concepts.

So, using this logic, a character who can make everything become one (Fusionism) and someone with Fissionism (i.e., the ability to differentiate things that were once one into separate entities) would get CM, which isn’t the case, Since, in this context, it seems to be referring to the things themselves rather than some underlying governing concept.

That's kinda false, and it seems like you just focus on this splitting things. They are explicitly establishing the abstract governing distinctions and boundaries ot Life, Death, Time, Space that define reality itself, which is manipulation of the underlying concepts not just their physical manifestations.

I mean, the fact that these four abstract concepts depend on their authority in order to function already indicates manipulation at the conceptual level.

has nothing to do at all with fusionism

I mean, your argument mostly focuses on that. As far as I can see, all the other mentions of “concept” are pretty vague, more like everyday uses of the term.

Yeah, it isn’t physical, “boundaries” here refer to rules and laws that limit how things work, if you read the scan more properly. So there’s no conceptual manipulation there.

True, it was just an example. With Fusionism, I can destroy the boundaries of life and death, space and time by making them become one. Therefore, by that logic, I would have conceptual destruction.

The page on fusionism mentions that concepts can be fused, but the point here is that what the Heavenly Principles did is neither fusionism nor fissionism. Here, ‘limits’ refers to structuring the functioning of aspects of the world.

So law manipulation?
The ability to manipulate "laws" that automatically apply themselves upon reality, referring to rules, mandates and even fundamental logical principles/truths/facts that are the way in which a reality may function

I mean.. not really? The game itself have already said that the concept of time is one of the rules of the world. Those are explicitly primordial laws, reality-defining distinctions whose prior nonexistence and subsequent imposition demonstrate governance over the underlying structure of existence itself.

Yeah, it isn’t physical, “boundaries” here refer to rules and laws that limit how things work, if you read the scan more properly. So there’s no conceptual manipulation there.
As AsterReal said above. Those laws define how fundamental aspects of reality (Life, Death, Time, Space) can exist and interact, so establishing them from a prior state of nonexistence is the imposition of the very concepts that govern reality, not just passive regulation.

And as I said before, these four concepts (Life, Death, Time, and Space) depend on their authorities in order to function, which indicates manipulation at the conceptual level.

I don't want to drag this out; it's okay if you disagree and think this is just Law Manipulation. I just want to hear something from the staff.

It is important to understand the context presented by the OP. this discussion has no relation to fusionism or any concept of unification. Fundamental concepts such as life, death, space, and time have existed since the very beginning. However, in their initial state, these concepts were not yet differentiated, they had no clear boundaries and could not be distinguished from one another.

Without definition, there is no way to truly recognize the differences between concepts. For example, how can we know that “death” is death if, at that point, neither life nor death had been defined?
Therefore, the evidence of conceptual manipulation here is not the creation of new concepts, but rather the alteration of the essence of already existing ones. This transformation allows these concepts to become defined and distinguishable. In other words, what occurs is the imposition of boundaries upon metaphysical aspects.

It is crucial to emphasize that this is not a process of unifying objects, but the opposite separating definitions. Through this differentiation, concepts such as life, death, space, and time acquire their own distinct identities. The Teyvat we know today stands upon this foundation of differentiation. Its reality is formed from concepts that were once undefined, later structured into a system where distinctions can exist.

These four concepts, life, death, space, and time serve as the fundamental pillars of reality. Everything that exists is dependent upon and bound by this conceptual framework.

Yeah I will not respond further, it is better to wait for the staff to evaluate this.

Bumpinggggg... Sighh

how it feels like being ignored by the staffs for 2 weeks
