I think it’s fine as long as the question isn’t being super leading trying to get a specific answer. “Hey what’s this realm they’re in? It’s a 6d structure right? Is it above concepts? They’re above this realm right?!” vs “Yo what’s this weird place they went to supposed to be?”

Plot holes.

Also I reckon he never got to his Fourth Form (the only form that can handle the magic I think) in Season 9?

Tirek needs to reach certain levels of power to absorb certain characters magic, we see in both Season 4 and Season 9 that he can’t absorb power from those stronger than him, like how he had to work up to stealing Pegasi flight and Earth pony strength and waited til he had absorbed most magic in Equestria before going after the Princess’s, or how he literally couldn’t take Chrysalis’s magic until she let him do so.

I think the reason he says he couldn’t control Discord’s chaos magic in Season 9 is that he simply wasn’t strong enough to do so at his current form. I mean we do literally see him use Discord’s magic back in Season 4 when he was strong enough to absorb it, so it’s not really a plot hole cause Tirek simply isn’t as strong as he was back in Season 4.
