Mature Content Warnings

It has come to my attention that we should probably have some sort of warning template for pages that deal with mature subject matter. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I could make a simple template to add to mature pages but I'm not sure how to word it.

Okay I made a very simple template that should be used on any page with adult content.

This should obviously exist in VBW as well, I feel. It is a far better alternative than to be sensitive prudes regardless of context.

When it comes to mature content stuff on the pages, what kind of extent on mature content are we going at here that will be deemed as 18+? Pictures, I can understand (even if it was of partial nudity or close to it). But I presume text that's also M-rated like will be amongst it as well, no?

Any overly suggestive art and nudity stuff. Artistic nudity is fine I guess. Case-by-case. And yeah, text would also apply. Though I feel like we should be strict with pictures.

Case-by-case analysis, really.

Nudity from a classical painting of Aphrodite or Lilith is obviously not the same as nudity from hentai artwork, and even a graphic sex scene from a +18 movie like Clockwork Orange is obviously not the same as ****.

Mmmm. Fair enough. And "M-rated" text would probably be harder to restrict, particularly if it's something related and important to know about a character whether through their backstory or how they act in the present.

Persoanlly things of more or less graphic content, like spellin out the murder or condition of one in immense detail, from the blade and its luster to its victim and its weeping wound word by word instead of just putting "And they died swiftly" Not solely bound to the bloody and grimey though.

This is great, but I should remind you all that straight up ****/hentai would get you banned (remember people getting banned on VSBW by Fandom for "offesnive/suggestive content"?) I'd hate for that to happen to more people.

I've been asked if a character having a background of some sexual abuse (but it's not described/detailed, just stated) counts as needing a mature warning?

As someone who's both not wanting to feel we'll be doing things too restrictive yet at least trying to be somewhat cautious with anything like this, are we doing this case by case as well as at least making anything that's overly suggestive or full of nudity a no-go, right?

Just wanting to be sure as to what we'll have by the time this is finalized. Which is also a thing we gotta try working towards more often to do.

@Cross It'll have to be case-by-case when it comes to nudity, given that there's plenty of nonsexual artistic nudity that should be fine and others that isn't.

@Prom: Ah. Hmm it might be also best for I think maybe for users to like give us a preview of what they want to post and depending on the image, they may be allowed to actually post the image or just give us the link to the image (like a tab of just the image that previews it).

How's that? This way, I think it can give us a heads up as to what we may allow finely and what not to post here.

I think the content warning needs to be made if you have them half naked. If it's straight up pornography then you get a Ra (Immortal Mythos) situation where you'll have to pixelate it
