My Hero Academia General Discussion Thread #18

What the **** is this recent chapter

  1. All For One and Yoichi are twins.
  2. Yoichi is frail, scrawny, and sickly due to All For One parasitically stealing their mother's nutrients in the womb.
  3. All For One stole their mother's Quirk upon birth and cannibalized her for survival.
  4. Their mother, a prostitute that contracted a mysterious disease, developed her Quirk a year before the Glowing Baby was born.
  5. All For One used their mother's Quirk, which appears similar to Rivet, to murder a group of anti-Meta Ability activists.
  6. Even as a toddler, All For One began murdering innocents and stealing their Quirks in an effort to claim the world for himself.
  7. The Glowing Baby was an activist and fought head-on to defend the public.
  8. All For One killed the Glowing Baby and stole their Quirk, too.

What the actial ****? Does this mean that All For One's Family Tree is technically the origin of Quirks?

The young girl that developed ice powers in the first chapter's overview of Quirks and looks suspiciously like a Himura is now older?

There were children with Quirks in India before the Luminescent Baby, too. The appearance of the Quirk gene appears to be entirely random.

All things considered, All For One and Yoichi's mother was cute. I honestly want a better life for their mother; although, giving birth to the Antichrist might muddle things, even if she was provided with a stable and healthy living condition.
Maybe if she had survived there would be less of a chance of the world going to hell in the future.

Man, AFO backstory right here and now, he truly is about to meet his end.

Glowing baby not being the first Quirk user is wild, it means that Quirks have been showing up for who knows how long before him. 50 in India alone, how many more throughout all of MHA history have popped up? What caused the massive shift for everyone to start getting them more overtly? Is it really a disease or an evolution possibly thousands of years in the making randomly kicking in?

I wonder if we’ll get AFO’s perspective on killing ALL the previous users now, since we just got it of him taking down Yoichi (and so soon after he was freed too, sad.) That first meeting of hands must have been Yoichi passing OFA since he dies so soon after. OFA is essentially him trying to fulfill his core purpose of “I own this” that has been with him even in his mother’s womb.

Possible Prime AFO vs Prime AM coming up?

But the reason we don't scale his rewind state to his prime state is because he lost all of his old quirks, but with him having one of his og quirks that entire argument falls apart.
And wasn’t the reason he didn’t use things like the doctor doom plasma beam not because he didnt’t have them but because he‘d rip himself apart / he couldn’t get the anger to do it?

Do we know if stain is dead after 401? All for one did well, y‘know, so it’s fair to assume he did, but have we gotten confirmation?

-What the hell is today's episode?
Hori got tired of waiting and began to practice his horror manga, baby afo eating his deceased mother while being dragged through a river holding his brother's hand.

-A curious thing is that the afo stealing nutrients from his twin is a real thing

-The baby was so big that he already paid taxes as soon as he was born.

-An extra observation would be that Afo from the beginning had a violent nature and no morals or guidance in a chaotic and violent world that absorbed everything sentenced by a quirk that affects his personality.
a child who was born with nothing with the need to have everything but decided to understand it through what he saw in the comics as a shonen protagonist who sees the biggest guy in his verse and decides to follow that path.

I think the implication was that Chizome was attempting to inspire hope in Toshinori, only to be unceremoniously picked off before he could make any difference, to display how hopeless the situation was.

But with Horikoshi, there is always a way. I'm not even fully convinced Nemuri died.
If Torino can survive, anyone can

Since the mother's quirk was the spear bones, it is possible that affecting other people's gifts comes from the father's genetics.
A theory, maybe at some point they searched for him and killed him and that's where they got his last name.

Afo retains and uses his mother's Quirk to this day. It seemed to me that it was what he used us to avoid Toshinori's explosion as well as to bite into Endeavor's side.

It's oddly sentimental of him to use his mothers quirk to this day, it's the quirk that, from what we've scene, is in almost, if not all, of the times he's used either a plot relevant quirk combo (like Endeavor getting his lung crunched out which awakens him to his final growing point, his ultimate quirk combination) or one to save him when his life is genuinely in danger (like saving his remaining life from all might's explosion). Which isn't something I expected from him, because it's not even the Yoichi thing of him keeping it because it was his, he's genuinely using it as a power tool in his kit

Even in death, a good mother always protects. 🥹 Too bad her son is a scumbag.

Quirks do influence your personality and are seemingly the absolute basis of your personality (the entire existence of vestiges). Toga’s whole character depends on the fact her Quirk makes her want to do things others think are evil.

Nature vs Nurture is a huge theme of MHA, so it’s no surprise that All For One, the secondary villain, is a shining example of it.
