Hamon can stop your organs (notably the heart or induce a state of unconsciousness), but it can also induce madness, mind control, and a bunch more.

I don't think Tanjiro has feats of powering through his heart being fried, or anything comparable.

The fact he doesn't even have to move to discharge Hamon so seeing his body ain't gonna help much against that (SBA is central park, plenty of stuff that can retain Hamon, such as the grass they stand on), a pretty heavy inherent stat advantage that can be buffed further if he charges Hamon so TW buffing can be mitigated easily. The fact any careless contact with Jonathan is dangerous even if he perfectly reacts (as in, him landing hits on Jonathan is dangerous).

Jonathan also has wacky body control, something he can use to easily mix Tanjiro up (such as popping his joints and ligaments in inhumane ways to extend or **** with his reach to catch him off-guard, something Hamon heals upon doing so, completely altering his blood flow and heartbeat to mess with reading his intent, etc), which is to say cool, ya have x-ray vision, against someone who can and will be altering his physiology here and there in ways a human simply can't, he'll probably pick up on it quickly, but messing up even once is very bad here.

Hamon is instant, if it touches him, it's in him, and as such far too late to do anything about it unless he chops his head off or something.

Additionally, yeah, if you slash him in a vital area, but don't forget Jonathan can make hamon veils (reduces damage of piercing attacks and stuff, like a thin forcefield), can use Hamon to repel blades and stuff (the most prominent example of this is in part 2 actually, it's why Joseph could catch a knife with his finger, or walking on spikes or fingerstand on a point), he can also heal with Hamon and has high stamina, even before he had training, he was cut to the bone and waked it off, he had his ribs and arms smashed, stabbed, and more and continued fighting, even his death involved having his major neck arteries pierced (this is instant death) yet unable to use Hamon, he still kept going for minutes and even whipped out one last charge of hamon.
And let's not forget, Jonathan does this to dudes who have higher AP than Tanjiro

My thing is that with the transparent world Tanjiro will see all of this happening in slowed time, so even channeling hamon through other stuff won't matter when Tanjiro can see it moving through the ground or grass before it has moved close to him and dodge it. And Tanjiro won't make contact, he'll do it with the sword, in slowed time before John has any chance to channel hamon through the sword. The body control really doesnt matter any alteration made with be seen and also sensed.

Amps are ok, but if a character, who would normally be slower amps in speed, enables them to win against a character who is normally quicker than them with said amp outside of speed equal. We don't allow that shit, as that's the mf winning solely because it's speed equal even though said shit would be useless in any other case.
"Per default the following rules and assumptions will be taken if a match takes place in a speed equalized setting:

• Any speed equalized match, in which a major reason a character loses is due to having a disadvantage against some speed value they usually wouldn't have a disadvantage against, may not be added to profiles.
  
  • As a result, winning a speed equalized match against a faster opponent due to a speed boost so large that it blitzes the opponent will not be added."

If blud is winning solely based on a speed amp, against a character who, in actuality, is 5,000,000,000x quicker than him with said amp, he didn't win shit, he won solely based on an arbitrary rule that exists just so he doesn't lose instantly. Speed equal exists to prevent the slower lads from getting obliterated before they can do anything, NOT to let them cheese an impossible win against someone who would blitz them.

Speed equal, equalizes combat speed, for Tanjiro's benefit, if he amps speed to win, it can not be added.

Hamon does have to travel, obviously, but certain things can keep that Hamon instead of it dissipating as with rock or metal. Organic matter, would be one such thing. The Hamon does have to reach the grass, but once there, it can stay there.
