That's right, I have returned with one of two planned Marvel threads, this one just focusing on some minor revisions, additions, and cleanups.
- Demonic Magic + Hellfire for The Adversary, which should be pretty obvious since he is a demon who is powerful enough to be a candidate for the title of Hell-Lord even if he isn't an actual Hell-Lord
- Resistance to the Passive Effects of the Darkhold for Doctor Strange, as he has used the Darkhold on at least one occasion without ever being affected by its passive effects
- BDE 2 for Astral Forms, since the Astral Plane is accepted as a 1-A realm beyond all forms of space, time, and physics, and Astral Forms naturally scale via existing and operating on that plane of reality.
- Remove Information Manipulation (Type 2) from the Darkhold's powers and replace it with Text Manipulation
- Yeah this one was a mistake from when I first posted the thread, the feat used is definitely not Type 2 Information Manipulation. Scarlet Witch rewriting the influence of the Darkhold's passive Madness Manip and Corruption is text manip, not information manip.
- Revise Dormammu's intelligence section:
- Genius normally, Extraordinary Genius sorcerer (Despite his arrogant nature often hindering him, Dormammu is an incredibly skilled strategist and manipulator, as well as one of the greatest magicians in the Marvel universe. Along with his sister, Dormammu managed to manipulate the Dark Dimension's king Olnar into making Dormammu and Umar his two advisors, and took control of the Dark Dimension after Olnar's death. He managed to successfully defeat his sister and then trick her into banishment, and has managed to constantly thwart his sister's attempts to take the throne, as well as those of other usurpers. He is a skilled strategist and planner, having come incredibly close to conquering Earth and outmatching Doctor Strange through sheer scheming only to be barely defeated at the last moment. He has also been shown to be a competent leader of his armies such as in the War of the Seven Spheres. He is also a skilled manipulator, even managing to trick Clea by disguising as the Pixie known as Flick so that she would help weaken Umar enough for him to defeat her and take back control of the Dark Dimension. In one Dormammu is also a master martial artist, casually matching Strange and nearly overwhelming him in a melee fight and only losing due to his own overconfidence. Dormammu's greatest skill, however, is his near-unrivalled skills as a sorcerer, being rivalled only by Sorcerers Supreme such as the Ancient One and Doctor Strange, and even then he has matched both of them in mystic battles on a constant basis)
- Further support for the conceptual nature of magic:
- Dormammu, who is described as a literal concept, is accepted as having his body entirely made of magic for the following reasoning:
- Since Dormammu's body is entirely made of mystic energy, as his composition is partially Faltine and the other part is the mystical energies of the Dark Dimension, with the Faltine themselves being stated to be made of magic, his physiology should be that of pure magic itself.
- Similarly, Faltines, who are described as abstract beings, stated to be entirely made of magic.
- Dormammu, who is described as a literal concept, is accepted as having his body entirely made of magic for the following reasoning:
- Further Extrasensory Perception for Sorcerer Supreme Tier Magicians: Doctor Strange easily sees through a novice magician's cloaking spell
- Existence Erasure for Low-Tier Sorcerers: The Flames of the Faltine are capable of erasing people from existence.
- Additions for Demonic Magic:
- Forcefield Creation: With Blood Walls, which can be used to keep out certain types of people (such as only adults)
- Death Manipulation & Curse Manipulation: The Cipher of Death can kill a person if drawn on something that person owns and uses/touches (like a shirt or pillow), and even when just drawn on the side of a car can result in the deaths of those driving it.
- Disease Manipulation & Curse Manipulation: One type of demonic cipher can be used even by novices in demonic magic to inflict various diseases on others, with the severity and length depending on the cipher's size and color, from Ghost Rider (2022) #21
- Earth Manipulation & BFR (with High 1-B range): Despite being a relative novice at demonic magic, Talia was capable of making the Earth trap and swallow Stefen Skarr's body, and would've sent him to Hell had Doctor Strange not intervened.
- Note: In the 2nd scan Talia states that she is the one who made the Earth trap Stefen, not Dr. Strange
- Addition for Faltine Magic:
- Forcefield Creation: The Flames of the Faltine can be used to create a forcefield around one's body,[156] as shown here.
- Change Doctor Doom's Type 1 Immortality to Longevity. Sad to do, but he doesn't have any actual statement which I know of saying that he is naturally immortal, so by the rules him surviving for centuries to get revenge on the Marquis of Death is just Longevity.
- Remove all DeMattis stuff from the Magic page. Nothing too big, just a few minor powers and supporting statements.
- Upgrade Storm's peak speed and Marduk Kurios's speed from MFTL+ to Infinite.
- Peak Storm scales in speed to the Adversary, who currently scales to Mephisto who has Infinite Speed in his High 1-B key
- Marduk Kurios's High 1-B version scales to High 1-B Mephisto who is Infinite in speed.
- Further Stealth Mastery and the addition of Resistance to Clairvoyance for High-Tier Sorcerers: Powerful mystic forces have consistently been able to cloud the Orb of Agamotto's scrying and otherwise jeopardize it, examples of which include Kulan Gath concealing himself from the Orb, Umar shrouding the Dark Dimension behind mystic vapors to escape its monitoring, the mere presence of the mystic principality Ikonn blackening the Orb, the outcome of Dormammu and Eternity's battle being beyond the Orb's power to investigate.
- An additional supporting statement for the conceptual nature of magic: The magical essence of something is the same as the very idea of it, from Thor Vol 6 #27.
