Me bored and this sounds interesting.
  • Fight takes place in Banana Bay
  • Garden Warfare/Battle for Neighborville keys for Peashooter and Sunflower and End Game/DLC keys for Cuphead and Mugman
  • Cuphead and Mugman are 8-A.
  • Cuphead has Peashooter, Crackshot, Coffee, Smoke Bomb, and Energy Beam. Mugman has Peashooter, Charge, Smoke Bomb, P. Sugar, and Invincibility
  • Speed is equalized.
  • Starting distance is 30 meters
  • A duo wins by taking out both members of the opposing team simultaneously.
Plant Duo (357.175860421 Tons): 7Cup Bro's (100 Tons?): 0Incon: 0

I looked and the 8-A value is 100.8 tons according to the calc linked in Cuphead's page.

Okay, so the plants... I dunno how exactly to assess their capabilities. Throughout the franchise, the plants were bred to fight, but the thing is they tend to be recently born. This and the fact that they fight zombies (a species of monster that tends to be pretty freaking stupid) should automatically give Cuphead and Mugman the skill advantage.

At the same time, the energy beam, if you can call it that, is actually a torrent of water coming out of their heads. Given the relationship between plants and water, that's only going to help the plants out, not hurt them. Not that either of the cups could do it anyway since if there's anything the plants don't have, it's the color pink.

I have a feeling that more than likely, the plants despite their lacking experience will outright stonewall Cuphead and Mugman even when they could, technically, bring each other back to life by hitting each other physically. Might even be a stomp in the plants' favor.

The playable plants in GW are the same throughout the game and do canonically respawn after death so they should have experience fighting a multitude of various zombies.

Said zombies are also skilled sharpshooters. The plants can also take down large mechs like Major Problem.

The Plants don't have the ability to instantly absorb water and the Energy Beam can hurt other plants like Cagney Carnation just fine.
Not that either of the cups could do it anyway since if there's anything the plants don't have, it's the color pink.
The Cups Super meter also fills just by doing damage and Cuphead has the Coffee charm here which lets him passively fill it over time.

Cuphead and Mugman have the skill to avoid the plant's attacks and have Smoke Bomb to make avoiding attacks easier which combined with being able to quickly resurrect the other if one falls is gonna make it hard for the plants to take them out. All they have to do is whittle down the plants over time.

I don’t really see The Cups winning this, the plants have better range and way better lifting strength, on top of having 3x the Cups’ AP.

The Plants have superior AP, which is made worse by the fact that Sunflower can shoot 5-C beams (though is immobile while doing so) and seem to be better in fighting intelligence.

Abilities wise they could be even, and the Cups can do afterimage creation, use smoke bombs etc so they likely can land more hits on the plants than they can to them.

Resurrection wise, either Cup Head needs to be alive to revive the other, while the plants can just respawn themselves and still be within the same area. Meaning the only way for the Cup Heads to win is to incapacitate them (which can be an issue since Sunflower can just heal herself and peashooter, plus regeneration), while the plants can either do that or kill them both at once.

LS isn't gonna matter much since the Plants and Cups both don't grapple or have any restraining moves. Range shouldn't be to much of a problem since the cups can close distance with their higher travel speed if the Plants move out of their range.

The Cups do have Danmaku dodging skill and small size to help them avoid the Plants projectiles. They can also use Smoke Bomb to help them avoid the aim of Sunflower's Sunbeam.

As long as both members of a team are dead at once, it'll count as a win here.

So if the Cups take out both Peashooter and Sunflower before the other resurrects it'll be a win for them.

Btw do you two want me to count these as votes?

Yeah, I’m voting for the plants.

Alright. I played enough BFN to know about them and I gotta say a few things. Sunflower can use her ability 1 to heal herself AND peashooter. Cups don't have a reliable way to heal each other. Not only that, but nothing is stopping sunflower from just attaching a healing beam to Peashooter and just letting the pea shooter go absolutely bats*** crazy with gatling gun, pea souped, or CBB.

Plants have much better wincons than Cups. With that going with Plants.
Plants, mid diff.

Counted!

I'm sticking with the plants; even when my argument became shaky, the other arguments provided more reasons to go with them.

I'ma day late but; It's been over 24 hours so grace is over! Peashooter and Sunflower have won with 7 votes!
