Apologize for taking a while to respond, I don't have an excuse, I was just being lazy and spending my free time with other things
0# - Premise:
So, my stance is that Resurrección and Hollowfication are essentially the same thing--they provide similar physical benefits--with the only difference being the way either group attains this additional power.
1# - Hollowfication and Arrancarization:
Before we can even think about comparing anything, we must first supply a working description for both:
Hollowfication, as described, is an
experimental process where a Soul is imparted with the spiritual make-up of a Hollow, resulting in the boundaries that exist within, to be destroyed. Its intended effect, as explained by Kisuke, is to bestow
spiritual powers of a
Hollow onto a Shinigami. These effects are demonstrated by Vizards like Ichigo and Shinji, who can access
Hollow-
specific techniques; possess
Hollow-like Reiryoku; making them functionally similar to Hollows.
Arrancarization, as described, is a process wherein a Hollow removes their mask in an effort to attain a more "
Shinigami-like" state. If done successfully, a Hollow is imbued with
spiritual characteristics of a Shinigami. It results in the
emergence of a
Zanpakuto, which possess
release state similar to Shikai and Bankai; attaining
Shinigami-like Reiryoku; making them functionally similar to Shinigami.
2# - Comparison:
Here, I will provide a clear, concise view on the commonalities between both. And more specifically, why these commonalities would be heavily associated with the multiplicative nature of their respective ability.
A set of important commonalities are as follows:
- Hollowfication and Arrancarization, as demonstrated above, are the same process, for different populations. Hollowfication is for Souls, specifically Shinigami in our situation--Arrancarization is for Hollows.
- Hollowfication and Arrancarization imbues the affected population with the spiritual strengths of the other. A Shinigami is imbued with the strengths of a Hollow--a Hollow is imbued with the strengths of a Shinigami.
- Specifically, when it comes to activatable enhancements, Hollowfication and Arrancarization provide them. In the case of Hollowfication, it is the Hollow mask--in the case of Arrancarization, it is Resurrección. Furthermore, neither is demonstrated or mechanically indicated to be superior in any meaningful way, both are achieved by actualizing the new, spiritual component within them. A Shinigami releasing the spiritual strengths of a Hollow by activating their Hollowfication--A Hollow releasing the spiritual strengths of a Shinigami by activating their Resurrección.
So, if what I detailed above is true, I don't see how we can say there is a meaningful difference here to disallow Hollowfication from having a similar multiplier as Resurrección.
Both function the same; both are derived from overcoming inherent boundaries by introducing the other's opposing nature; it imbues them with the spiritual strengths and characteristics of the other. Everything I, and everyone else who supports my interpretation has laid out, seemingly point to a simple conclusion: Hollowfication and Arrancarization are fundamentally the same--the only difference is one of procedure and activation, not functionality.
