Can Pokemon Generations be used as canon?

Can the webseries of Pokemon Generations be considered canon? I feel like this is an important question because there's been some feats that's been shown in that series that is really impressive. EX: Red's Pikachu 1-shotted an assumed lv 70 Volcaronia that was calced to city level + and I feel like this should be talked about.

Also here's that clip of Red's Pikachu one-shotting that volcaronia: https://youtu.be/FHxZpk_hvJA?t=2m44s

There was no level mentioned whatsoever in that series though. That, and that Volcarona did nothing special, not even destroy that rock Pikachu was hiding against.

Iirc, our Pokemon profiles are composite by feats, not by scaling.

Right, so the pokedex is not excepted? Alright didn't know that. As for the level. The area that red's pikachu met that Volcarona is the same as in the game Pokemon Black and White and in said game that Volcarona is level 70. But I understand, despite the series taking place in the games continuity this can't be used to scale.

The Pokedex is accepted if quantifiable. I think what Gemmy means is that you can't scale Pokemon to each other unless they have specific ties to each other (ie Seviper and Zangoose, Kyogre and Groudon, etc) or it is very consistent (Pikachu being stronger than/outpacing the Magnemite evolutionary line). Otherwise, the pokemon are only scaled to their feats as things can get very out of hand very quickly, which at one point led to only allowing Legendary profiles to be made, with the exception of Pikachu or something.

Alright I understand now, basically what this boils down to is, that unless stated in the pokedex any fight with said pokemon is an outlier. or at least an outlier for the wild pokemon, not for trainers right?

I think trainers scale to wild Pokemon and other trainers if they've fought or had the ability to fight them before. I don't think they scale from legendary Pokemon of any kind, though, even if they own them. Otherwise pretty much everyone relevant in Diamond/Pearl would be 2-C for being able to fight the protagonist, who defeated/caught Dialga/Palkia/Giratina, on mostly equal terms. Extreme example, but still. Likewise, you're forced to catch Xerneas and Yveltal in X/Y, but Lysandre's page scales him from regular Pokemon.

I understand now, although I would point out Volcarona isn't really a legendary it's more of a pseudo-legendary so I'm not sure if that's more of a gray area or something.
