We have to take into account that this was still a joke at the end of the day, it’s hypocritical to say we can’t use one statement about a planet’s size because it’s a joke but then use another joke to justify the Earth of Dragon Ball being the same size as our own. And besides, Toriyama wouldn’t have been thinking about the Earth or Moon’s size when making that joke. And there’s still the possibility that the Moon’s distance from the Earth is an exception. The main issue is the distance between the Earth and Moon, I know we all moan about this statement but still it's relevant
If we take both Dr Slump's Earth size, and the distance between the Moon and Earth: Then either the Moon would take an unholy amount of time to travel around the Earth, or worse it'll move at an unholy speed
And seeing some of the objections to my calc which ang scales the moon, and I just wonder if we’ve forgotten that Dragon Ball does not take place in a setting similar to our own. It’s not AKIRA after all, we have a monkey boy who literally smashes people into manga panels after all.
And I say if there is any evidence to suggest the Earth of a fictional setting is not the same size as our own, it should not be ignored.
