Both would do so at the same time so its incon as Zeref's death manip kills the target instantly which prevents Gremmy from thinking it away while Gremmy thinks and Zeref dies too. If Zeref didn't have that ESP tho .......

Yes but that was because Kenny was terrifying him and he began to think about ways he would die. Once he was reminded of how his powers worked, he jut stopped thinking about dying and got on with it. As shown by every other usage of The V, what he thinks happens immediately so the fact that his death was happening so slowly means heimagined it as such and still had time to think it away. Zeref's death pillar doesn't give him that luxury.

It's more like he thought of himself dying, and in consequence he became weaker and Kenpachi had an easier time cutting him up. Kenpachi then points this out then Gremmy stops imagining his own death and heals his wounds, not quite the same as preventing death from affecting him entirely

Where does Gremmy's EE even come from btw? The only thing that comes to mind was his erasing of a Sternritter he himself created (which I don't believe should qualify him being to erase anyone) and even then he didn't "erase" him in the sense that all traces of him simply ceased to be, Gremmy splattered him.

Oh, but still when the body dies the brain is made very vulnerable, as shown with his fight with Kenpachi. Wreck the body (something incredibly difficult to do) and u have a shot at the brain
