Assuming what you said is true, that this power increase is Lay's, this would also mean that each of Lay's slashes would still increase AP. And with infinite slashes when using <heaven splitter>, Lay's AP would be infinite
Both my scan and your scan indicate that the progression here is AP. Your scan also says that Anos has to constantly increase his power to fight when Lay's attacks are surpassing previous attacks.
If Lay isn't increasing his power, there's no reason for Anos to increase his power with each attack when the progression is only in combat skills
Because Lay doesn't need to swing his sword to use heaven splitter so it isn't applicable. He just activates the art and it releases the amount of slashes he wants.
Anos statement to Revalschned is him saying that Revalschned's heaven splitter is weaker than Lay's and is predictable because it was an attack used in the past. The AP of that attack is fixed and due to it's nature, his skill with it cannot increase either as his order makes use of a fixed past
Assuming what you said is true, that this power increase is Lay's, this would also mean that each of Lay's slashes would still increase AP. And with infinite slashes when using <heaven splitter>, Lay's AP would be infinite.

Why can't AP be scaled just because it's a Fate Hax? It's a sword, so of course it will have AP. Even Evansmana's <Heaven Splitter> attack is being used to scale AP in Lay's profile.
Each slash is stronger than the previous one. Why do you think Lay using <Heaven Splitter> wouldn't have that effect? The nature of <Heaven Splitter> is still to slash the opponent with an infinite number of slashes, so there will still be an increase in power after each slash. And because it has gone through an infinite number of slashes, it has infinite AP.
As for the AP increase after each slash, it's not as fancy as I explained its logic. If it were just flowery language, why would Anos increase Lay's power, and why would Anos repeat that each of Lay's attacks was stronger than the previous one when speaking to the God of Traces?
Power is finite, but durability can be infinite. They are not contradictory.
The increase in Lay strength increases the strength in physical hit of the sword. But we're talking about a weapon ability here, it's AP increases by investing more magic power into it. So it's not increasing the ability AP.
And neither It's literal "infinite", it's used as hyperbolic term for something myriad/countless.
The kanji used 無数 means innumerable/countless. It doesn't decree any concrete amount of things, just arbitrary value.
And there's no proof that guy has infinite defense neither physically nor via magically(it would require infinite amount of magic power)
Spirits are born and defined by the source of spirit (legend/lore).Just because something is called fiction or imagination doesn't mean it is fundamental narration,
No, that's not what you meant.
What's mentioned is fictional, imaginary. In my scan, it's Avos Dilhevia - a spirit.
And the Source of Spirit (which is Legend/Lore) is the fundamental aspect that governs spirits.
The Source of Spirit, or any other Source for that matter, is independent of the mind of the character it governs. A character's Source is an aspect of existence that beyond the character's own mind.
It was the truth, but Leorg didn’t seem inclined to believe it. After all, magic is born from each individual’s source. These sources reside within our bodies, beyond our souls, beyond our spirits—deep within the abyss. It’s what makes us who we are. When sources of different classes face each other, fear of the greater source can make one’s magic go berserk.
Why would you use this to say that it's not a plot? It's normal for multiple people to change a story (like co-authors), and changes to the story will also cause the spirits to change according to what has been changed in the story.
Hmm. It was rare for her to be apart from Shin. This was my chance to ask her something.
“If you don’t mind me asking, is it possible for a spirit to change into a different spirit with the same name?”
“Huh? Hmm, I’m not sure. If their rumor or legend changes, the spirit will change accordingly, but the lore that shaped them at the moment of their birth has the biggest influence on their life.” Reno tilted her head in thought as she explained. “For example, I’m the Mother of Spirits, right? Being the mother of all spirits is the basis of my very being. The day that that lore changes will be the day that I fade away.”
“So a rumor or legend that contradicts the basis of your existence will shorten that spirit’s life span. Is that what you mean?”
“Yup, that’s right. Spirits can’t reincarnate like demons and humans. We can’t come back as a different spirit. Instead, we stick around for as long as our lore exists.”
I had been hoping to manipulate a few legends to do something about Avos Dilhevia, but those legends were based on the Demon King of Tyranny. There was no changing my existence.
“But rumors and legends that take shape after the spirit’s birth can still apply to them,” Reno continued. “Take the teardrop blossoms, for example. Before, my tears couldn’t create new spirits, but the rumor was spread. Since it didn’t contradict my existence as the Mother of Spirits, I gained the power that the rumor described.”
The Scarlet Stele King stood up. “The Long Snake Epiteo is a spirit born from the legend of the longest snake in the world. When it first came to be, it was long enough to circle the world, but the rumors grew more exaggerated over time. Now the snake is long enough to wrap around the world roughly three hundred and thirty-three times. Because of that length, it can live only in the magic swamp in the spirit school’s grounds, although it is said to extend its head into the Seven Seas from time to time.”
The NEP1 thing is just a metaphor, because magic hides your magic and makes you invisible.
Anos "absorbing" Graham's font doesn't seem to be the best way to add absorption, as he grabbed and placed Graham's font in his, so I don't think it works.
I don't think Wiki accepts an argument like this for infinite speed.
Shin still dodged the attack, so I disagree with the immeasurable speed.
I believe that the arguments about spirits are sufficient (?), I think there needs to be some metafiction in it or something (?).
Neutral towards Evansmana things.
The increase in Lay strength increases the strength in physical hit of the sword. But we're talking about a weapon ability here, it's AP increases by investing more magic power into it. So it's not increasing the ability AP.
It might increase physical strength, but it definitely increases magical power. Increasing physical strength for attack is pointless against someone like Anos, who is constantly surrounded by anti-magic, so the increase must be in magical power, which is why Anos had to increase his magical power to fight.
And neither It's literal "infinite", it's used as hyperbolic term for something myriad/countless.
The kanji used 無数 means innumerable/countless. It doesn't decree any concrete amount of things, just arbitrary value.
I just checked the raw version, and it's exactly as you said. The Jnovel translation must have had some ulterior motive in translating it as "infinite." Anyway, this AP issue should finally end.
Anos "absorbing" Graham's font doesn't seem to be the best way to add absorption, as he grabbed and placed Graham's font in his, so I don't think it works.
Introducing something into the body also counts as absorption, and there's also a claim that Anos absorbed Graham's source, thus qualifying him for absorption abilities.
Biological Absorption: The user can absorb other living beings into their own body, often breaking them down into energy or gaining their abilities, power, or memories. Sometimes, people that are absorbed in this manner aren't killed, but merely stored inside the body of the being that has absorbed them.
I've seen some other character profiles before that said "probability infinite speed," so we can put that in Anos's profile because Anos hasn't actually demonstrated infinite speed yet, but Anos could achieve it by infusing <Fless> with an infinite amount of magic.
Shin dodged the attack but was still struck; this is what makes the divine sword's speed immeasurable.
Immeasurable speed characters are far beyond even those Infinite speed characters listed above. They perceive infinite speed characters as completely frozen, and they can travel forward and backward in time at will. They have the speed necessary to hop from the beginning of time, to the end of time, and anywhere in between as casually as a human being can roll their eyes left or right. This also means their reaction time is faster than instantaneous. They can dodge an attack that already has been struck, and they can strike someone even before they launched an attack. And they can do all of this via sheer speed.
Introducing something into the body also counts as absorption, and there's also a claim that Anos absorbed Graham's source, thus qualifying him for absorption abilities.
Okay, but I still find it hard to believe the wiki would accept that, and even then, wouldn't that lead Anos to use all his magic to gain infinite speed and end up with no magical power left?
Anos will generate infinite magic power again. Just like Anos wants an output of 10 magic power, Anos would have to generate 10010 magic power and another 10000 magic power to cancel each other out, leaving 10 usable magic power.

None of this proves there's an overarching story to reality that is being changed. Simply put, Spirits are just conceptual beings by nature, therefore they exist purely as rumors and lore and suffer the changes of themselves through the lore/rumor changing.
This is equated to collective unconscious, especially similar to what Fire Force explains. Spirits are essentially just forms that are governed by what the collective of societies think is the case. If enough people believe in such a rumor/legend, then that would be just as true comparative to the belief of the legend. This does not mean that it is due to some plot manipulation that or plot based reality, this is merely just a thought being brought out into existence.
High-Godly regeneration would not match this description since spirits themselves depend upon people's mind, this doesn't prove that they could survive if those fundamental aspects of their self's continue, in fact you proved the opposite. You would have to showcase some proof that Spirits COULD revived even after their lore is changed/forgotten, since it has been accepted, I believe, that them regenerating or reviving from their lore would equate to informational resurrection/regeneration, so that would be equated, but there's nothing showcased to be so, so I disagree with that idea.
If that was the idea, since I was sort of Skimming the thread, then hopefully this make sense lmao.
I'm pretty much on the what the majority is saying here, but the case about Spirit's physiology is particularly interesting. I mean, we know that they originate from stories which you could argue is a form of narrative, the only problem is that they are localized stories brought to existence by people's cognition. It's not a fundamental block of reality in a narrative sense. So in that scope, it's already way much of a disqualifier for what this wiki may consider as narrative dependence. Or is it? Who knows. What I'm ultimately curious about is how would this site consider an internal story/narrative that actually imposes it's effect on reality, like what we have here:
There were many well-known legends of the Demon King of Tyranny’s
subordinates two thousand years ago. The Seven Demon Elders were
particularly famous, which made them particularly susceptible to Avos
Dilhevia’s control. Their anti-magic didn’t stand a chance against a legend that
so strongly bound them to the Demon King’s service.
Would this be some form of subjective reality? If so then what actually distinguishes reality being enforced through sheer manipulation from a local narrative bending reality according to it's structure? And finally, would this make the stories/legends which sustains spirits a legitimate ontological basis one way or another?

Yeah, that passage you quoted is what I've been curious about. It's weird leaving it as subjective reality as SR is manipulating reality based on one's perception. In this case, the spirits don't do anything, the lore that forms them enforces it's narrative on those that come under it.
If you want to prove plot manipulation, you shouldn't use the lore of spirits
There's a better context for that in volume 10 about the world being a stage and everyone being actors. Gods are.rhe are the stage managers and everything plays out as scripted. A god even spoke about how it plays out like tragedy and comedy

That possibility was also considered, but if you read other volumes you'll see that isn't case.
The world is stated to function like a stage where everyone are actors in a play. Another volume showed a divine realm containing shelves and books where everything in the world is inscribed upon.
Destroying those books destroys the existence of what is contained within.
Altering the books alters existence.
The world is indeed narratively scripted.

The only issue with that, is that that is regarding order not spirits as OP is trying to utilize, Its also a metaphor only without backing evidence/context, so we cant justify spirits being plot based off of order when the two have nothing to do with each other.
We would first have to prove the an overarching narrative exists and things would be viewed as fiction/not real.

That's exactly what I'm saying. He should abandon trying to use the lore of spirits to prove plot manipulation. It won't work. He should use order instead. That's much more concrete.
Well it doesn't only stop at that. What if the lore and legends in question influence not only ontology but also reality according to it's script? What makes an actual plot hax different from narrative based enforcement if we are talking purely about them in practice?

In life, we must try every possibility; we must move forward with the hope of success. Anos has never had a plot manip despite many attempts to improve it; I'm just here to follow in the footsteps of my predecessors.
Could you suggest what scans I'm missing to prove that the source of spirit is plot fundamental? I feel I've followed and presented scans that meet all the requirements of the plot manipulation page.
I can't suggest any scans from the franchise since I'm not a reader of the verse, but you need to prove that rumors and legends have some connotation to an actual narrative being rewritten and it having qualifications for actual plot hax akin to a series like Umineko or Marvel Comics where they take the "rewriting a narrative" type ability to an actual literal term like a story script being changed and it having an actual effect on reality akin to a writer changing his script and it altering the roles of the characters in his story and not some metaphor for something else. I still don't get why you're citing rumors as an example of plot hax when rumors are literally just gossip. They barely have anything to do with changing a script, it's just people spreading around information.

Unfortunately, what's demonstrated here is far from being an actual meta narrative aspect of reality, that much is clear since with how narrative is defined in this examples, they are mostly stories spread by random people.
One thing it exhibits though, is being able to shift, alter, and change reality according to its local scripts.

This one specifically talks about the legends enforcing fictitious roles on people. The spirit themselves doesn't do anything, their lore/legend by default just binds certain people to follow it's assigned roles. This is far from being SR or basic reality manipulation, as reality itself is influenced to follow the structure of the story even if it doesn't make sense or ignore causal relationship altogether(as was the case with the mother of all spirit).
.In this thread, only two issues remain unresolved: the infinite flight speed of Anos and the Source of Spirit = Plot Fundamental. Now I will present my clear arguments on these two issues.
Source of Spirit
Legend/ Lore = Story/ Plot
In many dictionaries, we see that the essence of Legend/Lore is a story.
Therefore, we can conclude that "Legend is Story/Plot".
Source of Spirit is Legend/ Lore
The Source of Spirit is the legend that creates spirits.
“Spirits are formed from rumors and legends. In most cases, spirits are born from widespread rumors or famous legends and are fully developed at birth, but this isn’t the case for half-spirit, half-demon children. The spirit source is influenced by the demon half of their body. A newly created, weak rumor forms their source.”
“This was a lie. He lied about the child of the Great Spirit Reno. There was no child born between Reno and Shin, and Misa’s spirit lore was not the order to destroy the Demon King. The legend of Avos Dilhevia is the lore that formed her source.”
Legend = Fundamental Aspect
I demonstrate that the source of spirit is plot fundamental using the following two criteria:
First criterion:
High-Godly: The ability to regenerate after the erasure of body, mind, soul, and at least one other fundamental aspect of a character's existence. Such an aspect could be their place in the narrative, their history, their information (Type 2), their concept, or something else along those lines. For any aspect to qualify, destruction of that aspect must cause erasure of the character in some form, and evidence must exist that the character cannot exist without that fundamental aspect existing as well. In addition, it must not be something that regenerating the body, mind, or soul would ordinarily restore. As such, take care when evaluating Type 3 concepts, and aspects that are not sufficiently expanded upon to make a judgment will not qualify.
When a legend ceases to exist, the spirits born from that legend will disappear with it. This satisfies the condition: For any aspect to qualify, destruction of that aspect must cause erasure of the character in some form, and evidence must exist that the character cannot exist without that fundamental aspect existing as well.
“They say you’re wilting,” I said.
“Yes, that’s right. I am fading. I will never again resurrect.” “Does that mean your lore has ceased to exist?”
A gentle chuckle echoed through the forest. “It seems there is something I can teach you besides the ways of war,” Migelonov said happily. “If a rumor or legend comes to an end, the spirit born from that lore will pass away. But one more situation can result in a spirit’s death: when that spirit turns against their own lore.”
Spirits lived according to the rumors and legends from which they were born. Just like how Gennul was the Wolf of Hiding and Ennunien was the Great Tree of Learning, all spirits lived their lives accordingly.''
“Mother of Aharthern Reno, and the countless fairies of various rumors and legends.”
Back in Midhaze, Reno stood beside Shin—who had kneeled the moment I addressed the world—and waved her hand cheerfully at the sky. There were numerous spirits behind her, among which included Misa.
“Sorry that the peace-loving peoples of Aharthern had no choice but to join the battle. The support of the spirits saved my followers from their crisis. Thank you.”
“This nation is the homeland of my husband and daughter,” Reno said simply, face bright. “And besides, us spirits wouldn’t exist without the rumors and legends of people. In a crisis, we’ll always come running.”
Second criterion:
Plot Manipulation is the ability to create, destroy, or control the plot that governs reality. Commonly found in metafictional stories, the plot can be understood as a fundamental aspect of reality once one views that reality as fictional. It is the description of the world that doesn't only describe, but determines, reality itself. As such, by altering the plot, one can achieve virtually any effect, in a similar fashion as with Reality Warping.
Spirits are bound by legends (which are the written narratives about their existence); their existence depends entirely on the legends and will change if the legends themselves are altered.
Spirits lived according to the rumors and legends from which they were born. Just like how Gennul was the Wolf of Hiding and Ennunien was the Great Tree of Learning, all spirits lived their lives accordingly.''
“If Avos Dilhevia were to be replaced by a spirit with the same name, Misa would be able to live in harmony with her spirit heart. Spirits change as their legends and rumors change, so achieving this wouldn’t be impossible. The problem there, however, is that spirits are most influenced by the original lore at the point of their birth.”
Reno defied her own legend by giving birth to a half-demon, half-spirit child, effectively erasing her existence. But when the half-demon child was reborn as a spirit, she was revived.
“Are you really okay with this?” Ennunien asked cautiously.
“With what?”
“As the mother of all spirits, you are bound by that lore. At all moments in time, you must be the mother of spirits and spirits alone.” Ennunien’s voice echoed solemnly. “That child is half demon. If you give birth to it, you will be defying your lore. You will fade away. You know this, don’t you?”
“Yup. I do.” Reno laughed as if that didn’t matter to her. “You know, I finally understand what granny meant.”
“Reno...” Shin murmured.
“The mother of all spirits faded away by going against her lore, giving birth to a demon. But the Great Spirit Avos Dilhevia has now regained her original form as a spirit, as the legends foretold.”
Avos Dilhevia was no longer half spirit, half demon. She was a pureblood spirit called Misa.
“And so, there is no reason for the Great Spirit Reno to have faded away at all.”
Reno defying her lore was now a thing of the past. As long as the new lore didn’t fade away, they could revive over and over again.
“M-Mother?”
The light Reno was hugging gradually materialized. A bright-eyed girl with wavy chestnut-brown hair looked up at her.
“Misa...”
Reno patted Misa’s head gently as she hugged her tight. Misa was crying tears of happiness.
“Mother... Mom...”
Anos creates the next development in the legend that governs Avos - a spirit that helps Avos be reborn as Misa.
Even if I had asked Igareth to spread the rumor of a kindhearted spirit named Avos Dilhevia, the original legend was far too widespread to expect change. But while this seemed like a helpless situation, there was still a way to save Misa.
“So what can be done?” I asked my comrades. When I thought about it now, it was terribly simple. “We can create the continuation of the Demon King of Tyranny’s legend instead. Let it be as follows: The resurrected Demon King of Tyranny is destroyed once more by the Sword of Three Races. With the blessing of the holy sword, Avos Dilhevia reincarnates into her true form as the spirit Misa, no longer half spirit, half demon.”
Spirits were beings that didn’t reincarnate, but Misa had been born from legends of the Demon King of Tyranny, who was said to reincarnate in two thousand years’ time. In fact, that was the most widespread legend of them all. That meant her reincarnating once again would pose no contradiction to her lore.
The legends of the Demon King of Tyranny spoke only of the past, not the future. Nothing was ever passed down about what would happen after the Demon King reincarnated. There were gaps in the legends that could still be filled. Thus, I had ordered Igareth to fill them, and he had fulfilled his duty.
The more humans feared the Demon King of Tyranny, the more prominent the new legend would be. Thus, once Lay had used the Sword of Three Races to take Misa’s life, I’d been able to cast Syrica on her.
“Still, there’s no telling if a spirit that cannot reincarnate will survive off the mere legend that states that she can. If she does reincarnate, it will not be as Avos Dilhevia, but as a new spirit.”
I held my hand in Shin’s direction and released some magic. The white teardrop blossom in his hand flew through the air towards me.
“Spirits are born from teardrop blossoms. This flower bloomed from the Great Spirit Reno’s wish for Shin and Misa’s happiness.”
I poured some magic into the blossom, which changed into particles of light. “Revive now, fallen great spirit. After two thousand years, it is time for sadness to give way to joy.”
Reno had said that she didn’t cry tears of sadness, but back then, she couldn’t help but cry the tears that made the flower before us bloom.
The light slowly took the form of a person. Of two people, actually—a mother and child locked in an embrace. One had a distinctly material form, six crystalline wings on her back, clear blue hair, and sparkling amber eyes.

Condition 2: Once one views that reality as fictional.
Avos did not exist in history. She was a "fictional" character created by a Legend (story) spread by Kanon. This satisfies the condition: Once one views that reality as fictional.
He wouldn’t cooperate in spreading the name of animaginary Demon King, but neither would he stop Kanon from doing so. That was the most that Shin, my loyal retainer, could do.
Stunned, Reno stared at Shin. “Are you going to reincarnate?”
“I must keep my word. Soon, Hero Kanon will begin spreading rumors of a fictional Demon King. I plan on taking my leave before then.”
His eyes unwavering, Kanon kept his eyes on Shin. “Indeed, it would be an insult to have an imposter take his place. I, as well as anyone, know just how mighty and revered the Demon King is. That is why I will atone for the sin of assuming the Demon King’s identity. I shall atone with my own life—as the fictitious Demon King, Avos Dilhevia.”
Melheis explained to the citizens the truth about Avos Dilhevia: how the name had been erroneously passed down for the past two thousand years, how a great spirit had been born from the legend of this Demon King of Tyranny, and how that birth had resulted in many people believing in a fictional Demon King.
Her right hand reached for Lay’s face, but Lay grabbed it with his left.
“I made a mistake. I spread the rumor of an imaginary Demon King and died a hero’s death. From the very beginning, there was no way it could have gone well. Your sorrowful existence is the price I must pay for my warped sense of justice.”
Speed Flight Infinite
We can see that the author has created a mechanism where increasing the magical power of <Fless> will increase the user's flight speed.
Sasha and Misha held on to one hand each.
“Hold on tight. I’m going to speed up.”
I channeled more of my magic into Fless to increase my speed. The distance between us and the dragon promptly began to shorten.
Then, suddenly, the dragon flapped its wings as though to scatter particles of magic, and its huge body came to a halt. When we caught up, our field of view opened up at once. The wall of dirt that had obstructed our surroundings was gone.
You seem to have a bad habit of taking any figurative things literally.
Lore/Legend here are collective beliefs and folklores held by people, not a story governing some METAFICTIONAL PLOT.
In real-life legends are story/plot for something fictional compared to us, but in this case it's a verse mechanism, there's no overarching narrative here.
Avos did not exist in history. She was a "fictional" character created by a Legend (story) spread by Kanon. This satisfies the condition: Once one views that reality as fictional.
Spirits are bound by legends (which are the written narratives about their existence); their existence depends entirely on the legends and will change if the legends themselves are altered.
Reno defied her own legend by giving birth to a half-demon, half-spirit child, effectively erasing her existence. But when the half-demon child was reborn as a spirit, she was revived.
When a legend ceases to exist, the spirits born from that legend will disappear with it. This satisfies the condition: For any aspect to qualify, destruction of that aspect must cause erasure of the character in some form, and evidence must exist that the character cannot exist without that fundamental aspect existing as well.
Everything you explained about the working of spirit physiology is a verse specific thing, which may have some resemble to plot because of the figurative words used in the story, but none involves a METAFICTIONAL PLOT.
Lore/Rumors are not narration of a story as fiction, like how an author writes a fictional reality from an external world to the fiction.
People who spread rumors, The Legends/lore and The spirits all exist in the same plane of reality.
"Fictional" as in fabricated/made up shit, No one views avos as fictional, she is as real as everyone that spread the rumor about her.

idk why are you basing your argument on something vague as this, when there's a literal feat for this speed in volume 11.
The scan only mentions that the divine sword struck the armor and tore it apart, immediately followed by a mention that Shin "dodged" it before it cut through his flesh. This sentence doesn't mention anything about it actually cutting through flesh, only denying it.
In the next sentence, the author states that Shin was bleeding, meaning Shin was indeed struck.
Connecting the events, we get: Divine sword struck Shin -> Armor shattered but not hit his flesh (because Shin dodged) -> Shin bled = his flesh was cut.
This aligns with the immeasurable attack speed as I explained above.
