65.12 KT Suiryu compared to 15.25 KT for Retsu
Class M to unknown LS.
Suiryu can survive beatings from a 6-B Gouketsu which is a bunch higher than whatever Retsu got going on.
This seems like an easy win for Suiryu.
Suiryu low diff. Maybe nearing a stomp???

Retsu has defensive Shaori which allows 10-Cs like kaku kaiou to tank hits from 7-Cs like yujiro; granted I'm pretty sure he's not as good at it but even then he should be able to at least handle the attacks especially since he has prior knowledge so he'd know to use it

Not only that but suiryu has no resistence to pressure points and retsu can use pressure points to straight up KO or even kill other characters so thats there

Not arguing in favor of retsu or anything but It dosen't seem like a stomp

Skill vs AP basically

And Suryu does not seem to have Baki bullshit martial art hax, his intelligence is "above average", I could even buy gifted, while Retsu is Genius

So Retsu outskills, he can even outrange him and don't bother fighting up close, what is the speed for both? Both are hypersonic+, we could have a rare unequalized fight

I mean, i'm pretty sure Suryu may or may not scale to base garou, but yeah, I don't think that's enough for Baki characters

Retsu scales to around mach 18.75 while suiryu scales to around mach 12.29 so we could actually have an unequalized speed matchup

Lemme do that actually

yeah mb I was just confusing it with the OVA version

in that case idk what suiryus skill feats are
He can defeat A ranks heroes, if we count the general A hero skill, because clearly he is not beating the strongest one like Iaian, he can reach gifted at most

Which is inferior to Retsu by the pages

He won a tournament 4 times, he impressed gouketsu a little, but for some reason, gouketsu is just above average, again, probably gifted at most

Fought Saitama who fought basically everyone.
In no way is suiryu comparable to saitama. In fact the guy wasn't even trying the entire time

Most of that fight consisted of Saitama preventing his wig from falling off, and then when Saitama did fight back he just one-shots him

yeah he's probably less skilled then

the AP gap is still there though (even if retsu is lowering it by a bit since he hasen't fully mastered it)

Gouketsu very obviously wasn't using 6-B+ stuff when beating down Suiryu.

However the endurance feats he showed during that arc indicates to me that there's nearly nothing Retsu can do to put him down.

You votting?

Not yet since there haven't really been any arguments made for Retsu.

However I think I should mention that Suiryu is capable of casually oneshotting people who scale to 5.8 kilotons and is considered to be very powerful by Genos who at this point could oneshot people who scale to 16.06 kilotons.

Speed also shouldn't really be an issue since he can easily blitz people who scale to 2838.259591 m/s. He can get faster than that, and even faster when serious.
AP aside if he's that much faster I should prob equalize speed again

Season 2 OVAs are also canon. Suiryu's skill is somewhat comparable to Garou's, and even without that, he's as skilled as his master who was compared to Bang. I don't think that either side should have a massive advantage in terms of pure combat skill.

That doesn't really account for techniques though. Does Retsu have any special techniques that can give him the upper hand? If not, then I think that Suiryu has the edge since his style revolves around maximizing damage and amplifying his attacks which would be a lot more effective given the AP gap.

I prefer to be as netural as possible when it comes to making threads as the OP but as far as techniques go there seem to be two notable ones

Defensive shaori: Allows 10-Cs like kau kaioh to tank hits from 7-Cs like yujiro (Although retsu isn't as good at it compared to him so idk if it's to this extent; gona let baki supporters handle that one)

Pressure points: Can apparently incap or even kill opponents comparable to him

There's also some other stuff in there like him using air to blind other characters and his info analysis

This could be helpful, but would defensive shaori would against the Dark Body Flying Dragon Fist? It's a technique that allows Suiryu to land a combination of attacks consecutively using momentum. If Retsu isn't as good as Kaku with shaori, then I'd imagine he'd struggle to spam it to avoid getting hurt by Suiryu's combination.
Unsure if pressure points work on Suiryu as his muscles are hard enough to block out even piercing attacks from characters stronger than Retsu. Given that pressure points are specific areas on skeletal muscle, I'm unsure how effective it would be.

High level martial artists in One-Punch Man can deal with that with their senses.

Retsu might not be as skilled with shaori as Kaku, but said shaori was only bypassed by Musashi once he actually got a solid slash on him before that it was working just fine iirc. The whole point of the technique is to be like a blade of grass in a storm, with the attack having no resistance from the user's body.
