If their definition of cool is making Harry act like a stereotypical goth and have him be as calculating as a dictionary then they've failed to make him cool or smart

Actually I have a question for all HP fans on here. So a lot of these fanfics have Harry relish in the attention and admiration he gets to flaunt over the ones the author is bashing, but doesn't Harry in canon dislike the attention he gets from everyone? At least that's what I've gathered from clips of the movies I watched

Harry actually hates the attention and would rather give it to someone else and in fact is very self conscious about himself which leads to crippling low self esteem at times.

Maybe a relationship with three people, who are all attracted to one another, yes. But having to write for a relationship with three or more girls liking a single guy is just night impossible, especially in a fanfic that boils down interactions to "me horny, let's flirt" or "me horny, lets ****".
Uh, for bad fanfics... I mostly skip out on them, but Naruto and HP are treasuretroves of course, and I could give a paragraph worth of description for a fanfic, and you wouldn't even know which verse I'm talking about.

@Planck69 wow, that makes it more apperant that these fanfics are created by people who want to put themselves in these worlds and make themselves look cool, bang all the chicks and bash people who they dislike.

Sure, I'll bite.
Main character is born into a powerful magical bloodline that allows them to casually outperform others and - either due to it or unrelated - they have a sex drive as early as 12 or about there.
Women far older (twice or even thrice their age) are interested in their amazing skills. I'm sure we can all relate, we all get a hard on watching some young kid play the piano masterfuly, right? ...Right?
The MC has a dislike, or outright adversity to other males and their presence. Reasonable, as said males' IQ goes down by a digit or two.
Of the array of powers they get, they do not use them smartly, and often just forget to use them. From precognition, mind reading, and whatever else, the magic system is a tag on to have something the MC can outperfom others in. OR the MC abuses unreasonable loops of logic to do insanely over the top things that shouldn't hold up. Kind of like that novel where the healer just kills people because they are a blight on the world so he is healing it, technically, kinda, somewhat.
Empathy is either nonexistent, frowned on or selectively used on people the MC would like to ****.
Just... everything from Mary Sue/Gary Sue list. I'd say take a shot per trope, but that would be murder from me.
Specifically though, Harry Potter enjoys time travel much more, while Naruto just has the SI on their side.

Only fic that actually did harem in a way I'm fine with makes the MC out to be a psychotic teen with the power to do whatever he wants, and even then the only reason is that other character POVs make it interesting.

The question is how Nyarlathotep would screw with the MC.
Does he drive them mad with some forbidden knowledge? Masquerade as them and steal their lives by ruining their reputation? Perhaps maybe drive them off the edge and have them commit a heinous crime? The possibilities are limitless for malicious destruction

I don't have the good spelling, but I'd like to think the premises of my ideas are fine.
It's just too bad that I can barely write on without my previous plut bunnies suddenly all dying out.

What would happen if you put two such MCs into a single place?
Would they mutually destruct one another? Assimilate into a single being with through their shared charisma black hole like nature? Have a steamy gay fanfic that is obviously made for parody and shock factor so that people can say "oh yeah, did you read that fanfic where Thanos gets assfucked by Sauron?"

For real though, he'd probably pretend to be him and slowly ruin his life all the while playing with his mind. Then when he's broken completely he assimilates into his life and locks him away to watch.

Oh and if the MC has some sort of spirit inside him like any story with Naruto and Harry has shown, Nyarlathotep could mentally corrupt those residing inside them and turn them into ravenous beasts

Yup I watched a vid on YT awhile back where are youtuber (I don't remember his name) was reading a shipping fanfic that was MarkiplierXJacksepticeye in front of Jack and his partner during a YT interview, sufficed to say it was beyond "awkward".
I legit got second-hand embarrassment.
