UNDERTALE/DELTARUNE [shiny new] DISCUSSION THEAD

But it really doesnt look like Frisk is like- outrunning the destruction of the timeline (that would make it very clear), but i can say that he DID survive it being consumed by the Hyper Goner
How can you display the outrunning the destruction of the timeline in those graphics? I'd like to hear.

Plus, if they don't dodge it, their HPs are reduced to 1. Explain this part.
But my question is would Frisk dodging chunks of the timeline (presumably shattering around them) count as Immeasurable? How do we even know its even the chunks of the timeline your even trying to dodge?
Probably I suppose? I do not really care about that.

Just because your HP is reduced to 1 doesnt really mean you outran it. That means you sat there and let the attack play out until the end. Thats not a speed feat, thats a resist feat
How is standing there and not caring about the giant goat skull black hole thing while the timeline shatters around you a speed feat? Enlighten me

It's reduced to 1 if you just stand there and take the hit. If you actively dodge, then your HPs do not decrease.

Simple as that. Frisk never tanked anything, if they do their HPs get reduced to 1. It's so simple to understand, really, it's not like you need a degree in graphic design to understand.

Das hot! Das hot.

  • Uses cringe fanon name
  • Brings dead Minecraft clone
🗿
He doesn't have an official name used in game and it sounds more fitting than Photoshop Flowey which is an even more cringe fanon name.

The "official" name is Boss Flowey which Toby Fox himself uses but that's worse lol. Omega Flowey is the best popular name for him, objectively.

Anyways next Undertale crossover will be Mortal Kombat, wherein you play Frisk who uses pacifism to win instead of violence, an extreme twist on the generic Mortal Kombat format.

Photoshop Flowey at least fits with his surreal nature as it's supposed to look "alien" to the game in everything, from aesthetics to the fight mechanics to the tone of said fight.

Omega is absurdly overused from anything, I'd take an original idea, thanks.

Is this an April's Fools that came too early?

Literally just calling him by the way his model was made. Should we also differentiate the sprites by their Overworld and Battle? That's no better a name than just calling him 6 Souls Flowey.

Like what? You say this but there aren't really any good names. God Flowey, Boss Flowey, Super Flowey, Omega Flowey, you're complaining about originality over this of all things? Most transformations have names like this unless a transformation has additional context that could be used for a more interesting name.

No, Frisk is confirmed for MK, I saw it in a dream.

"Photoshop Flowey" is literally what it's called in the credits. It's not a "fanon" name.

In japanese it appears that Photoshop is just credit to the app

And its just Flowey boss battle

So nah guys

Could you give a scan?
Unfortunately I cannot(skill issue) since my ass can't find the photo anymore

But, let's look at English too.
You see, it was written like
Photoshop
Flowey boss battle

For some reason. They're not put in the same line.

Seems more like misreading of the credits tho

Except literally not. The word Photoshop and the entire line "Flowey Battle Co-Design" are explicitly separated, and are there to credit Everdread for his work, who used photoshopped images to create the design and animations for the Flowey Boss Battle. This just gives further credence to the fact that the boss fight has no canon name besides "Flowey Boss Battle".

Toby Fox only calls the Omega/Photoshop Flowey form by "Flowey (Boss)" in the artbook. If you want to be official, use that.

Ngl but with the current state of things, I don't really think I can do much else to the verse, I added basically everything I could think of.

Last thing would technicall giving to Frisk from some kind of High Godly if the Hyper Goner can indeed kill them instead of just reducing their HP to 1.

Asriel was literally gonna erase the MEMORY of Frisk from existence by just killing them normally, and he kills them to activate that, but Frisk just comes back, which should prob warrant high-godly.

Also, just wondering, is it noted anywhere how the ability to SAVE and LOAD can work even if the user is erased from existence? Might check myself in a sec.

Nah. High Godly needs the erasure from a fundamental part of existence, that being History, Plot, Info 2 or Concept. Aka it's not qualifying.

Flowey in the Ruins (Genocide) says it.

Mid-godly then.

Ik I meant is it noted on the pages anywhere? That's why I talking bout it.

To be fair, Asriel talks about more about how Frisk is going to be forgotten from the world. And besides, erasing memory =/= erasing the mind as a whole. My idea is more about Frisk recovering from the timeline destruction, that needs High-Godly.

This on peak DT Frisk.

Fair enough.

Hm I think it could be worded better.

What Flowey suggests here is that his lingering will to live allowed him to come back even after he died. Like, obv, you no longer have will to live when you die. And actually we see very blatantly in the game that we use time manip AFTER our soul is destroyed and we are killed. Which means that regardless of if the death is conventional or even a means of basic existence erasure (destroying the body and soul in this case), the time manip can undo that. People prob understand this anyways but I think the wording could be improved to make it more clear, and it should be on any page in any key for strong DT users like Frisk and Flowey.

"Immortality (Type 4) and Resurrection (Low-Godly; Users of strong Determination are capable of rewinding time to change fate, even if it means undoing their own death. As Flowey was able to return even after erasing himself from existence, having his body destroyed while lacking a soul, this ability can work even if the will to live existed prior to their death, even if they are no longer conscious of what's happening. Furthermore, if the Determination is powerful enough, it can also allow the user to resurrect from death without the use of time manipulation, body and soul included)"

Something like that sounds better imo.

Also I'm thinking of a "Minor Fate Manipulation" just cause it's mentioned numerous times that the power they wield is specifically the power/resolve to change fate. But I guess that could be seen as metaphorical, and I mean obv changing fate is just apart of what time reversal does, so listing it as something separate is prob just unnecessary.

Ngl, I think we're totally getting High-Godly in Deltarune. Gaster's speculated and known abilities heavily suggest some extremely potent existence erasure hax is coming, and I bet Kris or someone is gonna just say "xd no" and come back from it cause of Determination.

My issue is that DT seems to never really bother the immaterial mind that makes someone's being, as they need to just refuse to die, Flowey even said it that he actively refused to while dying for the 1st time, this is why it's Low Godly and not Mid Godly, as Mid Godly needs also the mind to be erased.

Indeed it is metaphorical, it's a reference to how the user can change the course of events through the knowledge they've gained through resets, not that they can actively change the fate of events in a whim like Remilia Scarlet or Yhwach lol.
