Sans' intangible attacks

Guy who crashed TF out after Sans had his SI removed and proceeded to largely quit the wiki, though still visits on occaison
They actually keep me attached to my computer with this site open with a comically large chain, so that's not an option.

It's my fault anyway for not making myself clear enough; I should know how rabid Undertale fans are at this point, especially since I'm one of them.

I am confused why going through the soul is equal to going through the body. Is it the thing about how the armor shouldn't logically provide protection for Frisk's soul.

I think so, and even if the logic doesn't apply, we still clearly see most of Monsters' attacks being unable to phase through Frisk, including Papyrus' bones and Sans' own bones on 10th anniversary fight.

I mean the reason most monster attacks don't pass through Frisk is that they don't continue existing to do so or not do so I guess.

I have another I am not mistaken there are numerous examples of monster attacks passing through each other including those created by the same monster or different monsters. Then there is also the barriers your friends make to protect you from flowey before the Asriel fight. Would that not suggest that some at least limited ability to alter the tangibly of attacks for monsters in general? With the monster's ability varying from able to make attacks pass through each other to passing through Frisk.

They explicitly get broken. They even pass through Frisk if Frisk is "invulnurable" after being hit by another attack, so it's clearly attacks not being intangible rather than monster deliberately stopping that attack from existing.

Then why do they not do so when hitting Frisk? Looks more like game mechanics than anything for this case.

Explicitly or Implicitly. Invulnerable dictionary definition: Impossible to harm or damage.

The rules for the site say we usually need mechanism to prove it's not just durability. Let's see, when Frisk is invulnerable they appear to flicker in and out of existence, and attacks pass through them during this time. Sounds like the mechanism is just intangibility. Yeah, monsters already have non physical interaction, but layered intangibility exists.

I mean they actually hit the Soul as opposed the near if not complete lack of interaction between attacks.

Yeah it's layered intangibility for Frisk rather than pure intangibility. The reason I brought it up is that Monsters do not conciously destroy their own attacks whenever they hit the soul, it just that attack cannot pass through soul.

Basically game mechanics, yeah. If we take that literally, attacks would have destroyed each other upon interaction.

I mean we have some evidence that happens but isn't universally the spear undyne gives you destroys other spears. In the cutscene before Asriel, flowey does the circle and the bullets don't break until they start getting blocked the others.
